Why CitySafe exists
Most emergency training is designed for institutions. Not the person already on scene.
We come from industries that specialize in safety & security, wanted to build something that reaches the people who actually need it, everyday people who want to feel more empowered.

Our story
Safety skills belong to everyone.
"The people already on the scene are the real first responders."
CitySafe was founded because the people most likely to be first on scene, coworkers, neighbors, and commuters, are the people least likely to have any training for it. We built the curriculum that closes that gap at the community level.
Four-phase curriculum,
not just active shooter response.
Live, scenario-based delivery,
not an video series.
City-specific (transit, workplace,
and urban density) scenarios
Trauma-informed lens for
community and faith audiences
Led by practitioners,
not certification vendors
The Team
Built by people who've been there.
Military veterans, close protection professionals, and community advocates, with a shared belief that safety skills belong to everyone.
Michael Matos
Co-Founder
Michael is a U.S. Coast Guard veteran with a background in Anti-Terrorism and Search & Rescue operations. After his service, he entered the private security industry as a Close Protection Agent, managing security details for high-profile clients across complex urban environments. A lifelong martial artist, he brings decades of discipline and situational awareness to how CitySafe designs and delivers its programs. Michael leads the strategic and operational backbone of the organization, making sure what we teach actually works when it matters.
Alyssa Sciremammano
Co-Founder
Alyssa is a U.S. Army veteran with deep expertise in operational logistics and mission coordination. Her military career built a precision-focused approach to managing complex systems under pressure, skills she carried directly into executive protection and high-level security work in the private sector. At CitySafe, she drives the structural side of the organization including how programs are built, how engagements run, and how we scale without losing the quality of what we deliver.
Bushra Sarker
Co-Founder
Bushra is a brand strategist and designer who ensures that CitySafe's work reaches the people it's meant to serve, with clarity, authority, and empathy. She brings a trauma-informed perspective to everything CitySafe produces, from workshop materials to community partnerships, making sure how we show up matches who we're trying to reach. She is also a dedicated advocate for survivors of interpersonal violence, and that advocacy shapes the human-centered voice behind everything CitySafe does.
