Community Safety Scenario Practice. Photo by Karl Ault

CitySafe is hosting a free, two-hour Community Safety Seminar for neighbors, coworkers, and community groups. Led by military veterans and security professionals, we’re covering the practical skills most people are never taught: how to read a situation, look out for each other, and respond when something goes wrong. This opportunity is in collaboration with the Staten Island Performing Provider System and H.E.A.L.T.H for Youths, and comes at no cost, made possible by the City of New York.

Why it matters

When an emergency happens, the people already in the room are the first responders, and the minutes before help arrives are the ones that count. This seminar puts practical skills into those minutes, so you can act instead of freeze. Plus, lunch is on us.

When: Saturday, July 25th | 1:30-3:30 PM

Where: H.E.A.L.T.H for Youths
120 Victory Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10301

Who: Open to the General Public, No Experience Required

Cost: Free, thanks to the City of New York

Seats are limited. Registration closes when we're full.

What we'll cover

  • Reading a room
Most trouble signals itself before it happens. You'll learn to spot the early warning signs and trust them. Awareness is what buys you time.

  • Looking out for each other
Safety is a team effort. You'll learn to back up the people around you and respond as a group instead of standing by.

  • De-escalation
Words defuse most conflicts faster than anything physical ever could. You'll practice calming a situation before it turns.

  • Responding under pressure
When a situation does escalate, you'll know how to protect yourself and others, and act instead of freeze.

Led by military veterans and former bodyguards, the CitySafe team has protected celebrities, Fortune 500 executives, and elected officials. Now we're bringing that training to your community.

See you there,
